Earlist Organ much older than I ever imagined.

I've just read in "The Art of Organ Building" by George Ashdown Audsley that the oldest known representation of a Pneumatic Organ is found on a very old sculpture. The sculpture shows two small organs with pipes fed by wind chests connected to bellow. The sculpture is dated A.D. 346-395. (!) Out standing! I'm shocked.

Hi Roseanne,
I've just been talking to John Smith about your bellows problem.
He asked me to give you his mail address and suggests that you e-mail him. You can find him at
john.smith6607@ntlworld.com
Give him a try, he'll help you out.
Cheers.....Bernard

Hi Roseanne,
There are lots of people willing to help. Derek in Australia has just e-mailed the following:-

"Hi Bernard,
If "Roseanne" on your tracker-bar blog would like to get in touch with me "Email" I can send her a two part DVD on how I built the J.S. busker, this would really help her.
Regards Derek"
Mail djdeane2@bigpond.com

Derek is the one who built the organ clock (see tracker-bar).
This is just a copy from comments on my blog
Cheers............Bernard

Roseanne,
I've had a comment from Derek about 'Black-out' cloth.
Where there are folds on the corners you can get a slight break to the coating...which can let air out under pressure. He painted shellac as a sealer along the folds.
I know.....it's too late now...you've put it all back together.
Cheers.....Bernard
PS Are you going to post up some pics of this organ when finished ?

Yes there will be many photo's coming soon.

Since changing the valves the bellows are stronger. I got the same water pressure reading though. I talked to Peter Hood and he pointed out that making the u bend in my water gauge a little deeper and not blocking the other end of the water gauge was a good idea. So now I'm putting tubes to pipes. Its very exciting.

Thanks for you help. Panic over for now!
