connection rods.



The connection rods attach the crank shaft to the bellows. This means that when you turn the crank handel you are also pumping the bellows. From the diagram I was working from I origonaly thought that there were two different designs for each connection rod. After making the two I reliesed that it was the same connection rod viewd from two different sides.
This was the final design of the connection rod. It is so shaped to reach the middle of the bellow which it is deigned to pump. The split at the end is so that it can slot onto the crank shaft. Strong carpet thred was added to stop the rod from splitting under the strain of being cranked.
